Editorial standards

Bodhi exists to explain interesting things clearly and accurately. These standards describe how every article is produced, where our information comes from, and how we use AI tools responsibly. They apply to everything we publish.

Our goal: explain, don't just summarise

A good Bodhi article should leave you understanding how or why something works — not just that it happened. We favour evergreen explainers and curious facts over fast-moving news, because depth and accuracy matter more to us than being first.

How we research

• Every article starts from primary or reputable secondary sources — scientific bodies, official organisations, peer-reviewed work, established reference works, and recognised news organisations.
• We aim for information gain: each piece should add explanation, context, an analogy, or a connection you won't find in a one-line search result.
• Specific, checkable claims (numbers, dates, names) are verified against their source before publishing.

How we use AI — and where humans stay in charge

We use AI tools to help research and draft articles. We are transparent about this because it is accurate and because you deserve to know. Crucially, AI is a drafting assistant, not the publisher:

• Human fact-checking. A person reviews every article's factual claims against sources before it goes live. AI-generated claims are never published unchecked.
• Human editing. A person edits for accuracy, tone, clarity, and originality, and removes generic or templated phrasing.
• Independent review. Where possible, a separate review pass checks each finished article for factual and quality issues before publishing.
• Accountability. Every article carries a named human byline who is responsible for it.

We do not publish unreviewed, mass-generated content. If a draft can't be made accurate and genuinely useful, we don't publish it.

Accuracy and corrections

We get things wrong sometimes, and when we do we fix them openly rather than quietly. If you spot an error, please tell us — see our corrections policy for how we handle and label fixes.

Independence

Our editorial decisions are made independently of advertising. Ads that may appear on the site do not influence which topics we cover or what we conclude, and we label sponsored material clearly if we ever publish any.
